Overview
Qwen is served by Alibaba Cloud Model Studio (DashScope). Keys are tied to a region: Singapore (international), US (Virginia) and China (Beijing) are not interchangeable.
Get a key
- 1Use the international console and sign up for an Alibaba Cloud International account (identity checks may apply; international cards are accepted).
- 2Activate Model Studio under Products.
- 3Open the API Key page, choose the Singapore region, and create a key.
- 4Copy the key.
Cost. Billed by usage through your Alibaba Cloud account; some models include free quotas.
Add it to Loom
- 1Open Loom, then Providers in the menu, and choose Add provider.
- 2Pick Alibaba Qwen (the search box finds it).
- 3Fill in the fields in the table below.
- 4Choose Connect. Loom checks the key and says how many models it found. If it cannot check, it says so, and you can Save anyway and try a message.
- 5Open the model chip below the message box and pick a model.
- Loom’s address is the Singapore one,
https://dashscope-intl.aliyuncs.com/compatible-mode/v1. - For another region, change Endpoint to the address Alibaba lists for that region.
