Overview
The AI Gateway routes to many model makers at their list prices, with budgets you can set per key. Model names look like provider/model, for example anthropic/claude-sonnet-5.
Get a key
- 1In the Vercel dashboard, open AI Gateway and then API Keys.
- 2Choose Create key and name it. Set a dollar budget (daily, weekly or monthly), because a key without one can spend the team’s whole credit balance.
- 3Copy the key. It is shown once.
Cost. Prepaid credits at the providers’ list prices. Each team gets a small monthly free credit; some models are excluded from it.
Add it to Loom
- 1Open Loom, then Providers in the menu, and choose Add provider.
- 2Pick Vercel AI Gateway (the search box finds it).
- 3Fill in the fields in the table below.
- 4Choose Connect. Loom checks the key and says how many models it found. If it cannot check, it says so, and you can Save anyway and try a message.
- 5Open the model chip below the message box and pick a model.
